Statistically speaking...

According to a Gallup poll, only five percent of Americans read more than 32 books per year. To me, reading is essential to living. Reading is relaxing, exciting, educating, and insightful, and to personally promote the benefits of books, I am making a New Year's resolution to read more than 32 in 2011.

32 books in a year is by no means unheard of, and lots of people read more. This isn't to prove any sort of point, but to just get people thinking, and hopefully, reading!

I'll be reading a wide variety of books- some easy, others more challenging. I want to go at this sincerely, without making a game of it. I'll be reading all of these books for the first time, with the exception of the first (for sentiment).

Some brief notes about the books will be added when they're done being read, but I'd rather stay away from this being a book review site, and rather just a site promoting literacy. Open conversation about reading, writing, books, authors, and anything else of relevance will be strongly encouraged.
